~ Art of wood~

Follow the wood grains as a guideline

The artistic pieces are the result of an accurate craftsmanship. It starts with a single block of fine wood.
The local surroundings provide the raw material - it gives the color of the wood, its veins and the perfume. And it is precisely the veins that play the most important role as the vibrancy of each piece is
dictated by the life polished into it from hot beeswax. The waxing of the wood preserves not only the natural state but also the millenary tradition of Valle d'Aosta whereby in order to be considered a true
piece, one should not use any kind of paints or solvents. Among the wood used for production are almond, pear, or cherry maple, but the most precious is the local walnut of Aosta Valley.
